Trimodal Inland Terminal

Only a few hundred meters from the already existing terminal of Steel Logistics Europe a lot of hard work has been done the previous months to realise a brand new terminal on Ankerkade 150. Besides shipping and road transport this new terminal will also be accessible for transport by trains in the near future.

Last November the new terminal has been taken in use and the head office has also been moved to this location on Ankerkade 150. This second terminal covers a storage and transhipment area of 12.000 m². Currently this terminal is suitable for transport by truck or ship just like the other terminal but the next few months a lot of work will be done to realise the desired rail connection. A large part of the product flow can then be transferred from trucks/ships to the track, which enables Steel Logistics Europe to transport large amounts of steel in a fast and environment-friendly way.

In February 2009 the connection to the track line of the Beatrixhaven will be ready and the trimodal inland terminal of Steel Logistics Europe will be fully taken into use.
